Local Council Turn to Philips for LED Bulbs

Philips lighting has teamed up with Northumberland council to provide low energy LED lighting in Regent Street in the town of Blyth.

Northumberland County Council are under pressure to meet cost saving targets. By using LED lighting, as a solution they have predicted this would save them up to £10,000 pounds just in maintenance fees alone. With some LED’s having up to 60,000 hours worth of life using this method will save money while improving the quality of light which will not only benefit the council but motorist’s and pedestrians providing them with better visibility.
Some councils have resorted to turning street lights off at night to save money but Philips have provided the citizens of Blyth with a safer cost effective solution.
