TCP’S New Low Cost Dimmable LEDs

TCP, the energy efficient lighting company, is showcasing its latest in LED lighting technology at Light + Building 2012 (Hall 4.1 Stand G89) in Frankfurt this April, including a new range of low-cost dimmable Ambient LEDs, alongside new, energy efficient Halogen Savers.

The dimmable, Ambient LED energy saver range retails for £9.99 (12 Euros), a price which is up to two thirds cheaper than similar quality competitor products on the market, providing retailers with an LED range which offers volume and value.

Leading TCP’s Ambient range is the dimmable LED GU10, which replaces halogen spotlights found in kitchens and bathrooms.  One of the common complaints amongst users of halogen spotlights is that they often only last for a few months and are not very energy efficient. TCP’s LED GU10 solves both of these problems, offering 35,000 hours of use, while consuming just 5W of electricity.

TCP’s Ambient GU10 has an array of features: smooth dimming, perfect fit into GU10 luminaires, bright light output (200 lumens), ultra long lifetime and affordable retail price points.

Other new Ambient LED energy savers being unveiled at the show include TCP’s dimmable LED candle and mini globe. Customers can choose from two versions of each bulb, frosted, for a soft, warm ambient light, or clear for a sparkly warm light. Both the dimmable candle and mini bulbs offer the same longevity and energy efficiency qualities of the GU10.

In addition to its new LED range, TCP is also showcasing its energy efficient Halogen Saver range. TCP’s Halogen Savers have been designed with a unique robust capsule mounting which withstands the vibrations that normally limit the lifetime of halogens. Halogen Savers offer 30% energy savings compared to traditional halogens and are available in candle, flame tip, GLS, mini globe and shape versions.

Completing TCP’s product line up at the show will be its quick-start and bright CFL products, which have long been best sellers in its native USA market.

Also being launched by TCP at Light + Building 2012, is a new retailer support package. The TCP package offers a comprehensive solution for retailers, providing advice on lighting ranges and assistance to enable them to develop own-label lighting ranges. TCP’s retail package also includes guidance on packaging design, sales forecasting, product range development, market surveys, information on legislation, promotions and new product developments.

Speaking about TCP’s offerings at Light + Building, Jessica Parker, TCP’s marketing manager, said: “We are investing heavily in our LED technology and are very excited to be bringing the results of our efforts to the European stage.  We are responding to what our customers want and the growing demand amongst consumers for high quality, dimmable LED lighting at a good, affordable price. Additionally, our Halogen Saver range plays a crucial role as a direct replacement of the banned incandescent lamps.

“In addition to introducing new products, we are also using Light + Building 2012 as the stage to launch our new lighting support package for retailers. We are very aware that the consumer lighting market is rapidly changing, from the removal of incandescent to the introduction of new lighting technologies.  As a result, many retailers are unsure how to integrate the various lighting technologies onto their ranges. Our service enables retailers to maximise sales and source high quality products, and we are also able to assist them with the development and launch of own label products.”
